Traffic Specialist-California

SUMMARY
Directs and coordinates traffic activities of organization by performing  the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. 

  • Develops methods and procedures for transportation of commodities from departments to customers, warehouses, or other storage facilities 
  • Determines most efficient and economical routing and mode of transportation
  • Initiates investigations into causes of damages or shortages in consignments or overcharges for freight or insurance
  • Assists in preparing department budget
  • Freight billing, auditing, tracking and tracing of all inbounds freight
  • Set-up trucks for inbound and outbound freight
  • Ability to meet physical demands of job
  • Other duties may be assigned.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical form.
